Mr. Kane was an Army Air Corps pilot during World War II. He describes his training at Air Bases, patrols along the Atlantic coast while stationed at Cherry Point Marine Air Station in N.C., the sinking of German submarine U-701, and the events that followed the sinking of the submarine.
